Taylor’s Table

Turning a community kitchen concept into an accessible, inviting campaign that builds connection through food.

A Community Kitchen Concept for the Taylor-Massey Neighbourhood.

Insight

Food insecurity isn’t just about access to food, it’s about access to space, resources, and community. In Taylor-Massey, barriers like limited kitchen facilities and social isolation make it harder for residents to cook, learn, and connect.

Strategy

Reframe the community kitchen as a welcoming hub, not just a service.
Focus on clarity, inclusivity, and warmth to make the initiative feel approachable and easy to engage with.

Impact

The project translates a complex social issue into clear, actionable communication. By prioritizing accessibility and tone, the campaign encourages participation, builds awareness, and positions Taylor’s Table as a space for connection, learning, and support.

Execution

A cohesive visual campaign designed to inform and invite:

  • Illustrated posters and social assets explaining the concept

  • Simple, human-centered visuals to build trust and accessibility

  • Warm, natural colour palette to reflect comfort and community

  • Clear messaging and calls to action like “Have a seat at the table”

Each asset breaks down key information—from what a community kitchen is to how to participate, creating a system that is both informative and engaging.

My Role

Led the advertising and visual design of the project, including:

  • Designing posters, social media assets, and infographics

  • Developing the visual style, layout system, and colour palette

  • Applying accessible design principles to ensure clarity and usability

  • Translating research insights into a cohesive, audience-focused campaign
